She Smiles!

I got some more pics from Scott and Tamara. Look at that sweet smile!! I also got the treat of chatting on Facebook with Tamara : )

Today they decided that Tamara was going to carry Emerson and she didn't like it at first but eventually calmed down. They are hopeful that this is a breakthrough and Miss E will be lovin on Mommy in no time.

They visited the Chen Temple in Guangzhou

Here Emerson's name is being added to a scroll

Lobby of the beautiful White Swan hotel (I miss that breakfast buffet!)

Tomorrow is a total free day so they will likely shop all day!! They miss Garrison terribly and are anxious to get home to their family of four!

Guangzhou at last

They have arrived at the White Swan and I am sure Tamara is enjoying all the great shopping on the island.

Here is the email I got from Scott and the pictures!

We made it to Guangzhou! We were so ready to get out of Nanning and it is beautiful in Guangzhou. Had a good day with Miss LuLu. Her personality is finally starting to come out. She even laughed for Tamara today. We went and had her medical exam first thing when we got here. That was a real experience, but all went well. Dr. seemed to think that with proper nutrition and the heart repair she should catch up quickly. Had a good time walking around the streets near the hotel this afternoon and had a great meal at a Thai place this evening. Just gave her her first bath with us and it went about as expected - we had been warned that she did not like baths.

Introducing Miss Emerson!!!

Tamara and Scott met their precious daughter! They knew since she was close to her nannies they might have a tough time. Apparently she is a Daddy's girl and so Tamara is having to work her way into it. Please continue to keep them in your prayers : )

Now for the good part~ pictures of their newest addition~ isn't she beautiful!

More Beijing and on to Emerson!

Hi, Laura again~ We did this trip in Nov 2005 and there is NOTHING like standing on the Great Wall of China!

They also saw the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square

Scott has been a little sick (stomach) and hopefully is feeling much better. They flew to Nanning and so are finally in Emerson's province. They received information about Emerson and I am copying it from Scott's email:

We meet Emerson tomorrow at 3 PM! It is hard to believe after such a long wait. Got new info today which says she is timid, stubborn, does not like strangers and is very attached to her nannies. Sound like we may have a rough few days.

Three PM in Guangxi will be 3 am Monday morning here. Please keep them all in your prayers for a smooth transition. This is an exciting time for Scott and Tamara but will also likely be a scary time for Emerson...send good thoughts their way!

They were able to post on Facebook and I will email them comments left here : )

Beijing Day One

Scott and Tamara made it safely to China after long flight! They settled into Beijing and the touring began. They are having trouble accessing their blog as blogger is blocked in China right now so I will be posting for them.
